Complexion MD Anti-Wrinkle Cream Review and Giveaway

In early March I was sent a jar of Complexion MD Anti-Wrinkle Skin Cream to review. Complexion MD is a scientifically advanced approach to preventing and treating the signs of aging.  This proprietary formula was developed by Advanced Nutraceuticals and they claim it to be clinically proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.  This success is attributed to the combination of a powerful moisturizer, antioxidant and peptide blend.

The key ingredients of Complexion MD are as follows:

— Acetyl Hexapeptide-3:   This peptide tells the facial muscles to relax, which leads to a reduction in wrinkles.  It works much like a Botox injection would, but without the risks associated with the injections.  One clinical trial showed a 30% reduction in wrinkles after using this peptide for 30 days.

— Palmitoyl Oligopeptide/Tetrapeptide-3:  This Peptide Blend helps to suppress the chemical messengers that trigger inflammatory response in the body.  Inflammation is a key factor in the breakdown of tissue, which leads to wrinkles, sagging skin and uneven skin tone.  Studies have shown this compound to accelerate healing in sun damaged skin as well as an increase in collagen production.  Collagen is the substance of connective tissue – it is what “holds us together” or in this case it is what “holds our face together”!

— Palmitoyl Pentapeptide:   As we age our cells loose some of their collagen producing ability.  This peptide stimulate the cells to produce more, which in turn reduces the depth and volume of wrinkles.

— Emblica Extract:  This antioxidant helps to slow the discoloration associated with aging and/or damaged skin, including age spots.

— Tetraheyldecyl Ascorbate:  A vitamin C compound that can penetrate skin and eliminate the free radicals associated with cellular damage.  This compound also assists in synthesizing collagen and elastin.

I am not a scientist, but those ingredients seemed pretty impressive to me and I was anxious to try it.  The instructions said that it could take up to 6 weeks before starting to notice results.  I am currently in the 6th week of testing and have been applying it to a freshly washed and dried face (as per directions) in the mornings and evenings.

The cream comes in a 1 ounce jar and the directions state to “use in moderation”.  It only took one time to understand what that means and also to understand why a 1 ounce jar will last a month.  I applied what I thought was a small amount (about the size of a penny) and it was still way too much – my face got a little too moisturized!  After that I started using about half that amount and it worked perfectly.  As for lines and wrinkles…  Well, I am well into my 40s and my face shows it.  My biggest concern is the damage caused from the facial swelling due to my allergies.  This product did help with that and I started noticing results within the first week.  The results weren’t dramatic, but I feel my eye area is less puffy than before and I definitely notice a healthier skin tone.  As for my fine lines and wrinkles I did not notice much of a change.  I will say that the product is an excellent moisturizer and that will most likely assist in keeping any new ones at bay.

Overall I think it is a good product.  The results are not dramatic, but they are noticeable.  My skin is quite a bit smoother and I’m impressed with the moisturizing ability.  I am also impressed with the way it evened out my skin tone and have not noticed this result with my usual skin cream.  The cream is expensive, but a little bit does go a long way.  I think if you have aging skin and can afford it then you will probably like this product, especially for preventative purposes.

You can purchase Complexion MD directly from their Website where a 1 ounce jar sells for $99.99.  They do offer a money back guarantee, but you will need to return the unused portion.  Amazon.com has a slightly better price at $84.99 and shipping is free.
