Eco Lunch Gear Review & Giveaway!

Last week I received the Eco Lunch Gear Sandwich Wrap and Snack Bag for review.  No compensation was received for these comments other than the items to review.  Eco Lunch Gear has also generously agreed to give away a set of these same items to one of my readers in the pattern of their choice.

Eco Lunch Gear is a complexly “Green” business located in Northern Michigan.  They are a member of America’s Green Business Network and everything about this company is eco friendly, from the materials used in the product and all the way down to their recycled shipping labels and envelopes.  Personally, I think it is nice to see a company that actually “walks the walk” when it comes to the business of environmentally friendly products.

I tested the Sandwich Wrap and Snack Bag, but Eco Lunch Gear also sells Cinch Sacks, Cloth Napkins and a Tissue Holders.   All of their products are machine washable, but for the wrap and bag I found it simpler to just unfold it, spray with a diluted vinegar solution, wipe and let dry.   They also have a nice variety of patterns and colors to choose from so they are suitable for adults or children of any gender.  You can take a look at their website here.

The Snack Bags and Sandwich Wraps are made from 100% organic cotton and contain a nylon liner.  The liner does have a polyurethane coating to make it resistant of water (this keeps the food from getting stale and also keeps the nylon from rotting).  There’s no need to worry about this though as the coated side faces the cotton and never comes into direct contact with the food.

The Sandwich Wrap is about 13” x 15” in size.  It folds neatly around the sandwich and secures with Velcro. I found it very easy to use and really like how it is designed to use as a placemat when unfolded.  You can even fit a cloth napkin inside (which they also sell on their site).   I used the sandwich wrap several times when taking my lunch to work and it kept it fresh for the entire 5 hours on every occasion.   I decided to see how a sandwich would hold up in it overnight and it did pretty well.

The small all Snack Bag (that I tested) is 3 1/2″ x 6″.  It is designed in a similar way as the sandwich wrap in that it secures with Velcro.  It also completely unfolds for easy cleaning.  You can put just about anything in them as long as it isn’t completely liquid.  I used mine for nuts, but they say they will hold pickles, carrots, etc.. It secures very nicely and nothing fell out.  They also make a larger Snack Back that is 4 3/4″ x 7″ in size.  You can use that one for small sandwiches or larger snacks.

Both the wrap and the bag have a cute little label sewed on the front with a place to write your name.  These products are well made with thick fabric.   There are no loose threads or frayed edges and you can tell they will last a long time even if you ran them through the washing machine.

It feels good to know that I am helping he environment by using this product.  Over the long run it will also save me money in the cost of plastic wrap and bags as well.  I’d highly recommend this product for anyone who carries a lunch.  They are also cute enough to give as a gift.

The nice people at Eco Lunch Gear have agreed to give one of my readers a Sandwich Wrap and Snack Bag in the fabric pattern of their choice.  You MUST do the following:
