Household Traditions Cleaner Giveaway

Last month I had the opportunity to test, review and give out a large jar of Tropical Traditions Coconut oil (yummy), Well, I’m really excited to tell you that they sent me another product to try out and offer a giveaway for.  This is time I got to try the Household Traditions All Purpose Household Cleaner.  I was not paid to do this review and the only compensation received was the product (to try out).

Household Traditions All Purpose Cleaner is an enzyme based botanical formula designed to cut tough dirt and grease from most any type of surface.  It is completely non-toxic and free of harmful detergents, solvents, perfumes and dyes.

It comes in a clear bottle and you can see the liquid inside, which is also completely clear.  My first reaction to the cleaner was one of surprise because there was literally no smell at all.  I liked that because I usually hold my breath for a few seconds after spraying on most any type of cleaner (I don’t like to breathe the fumes).  At this point I was pretty intrigued because I was skeptical that something that looked like water could actually do a good job on the dirt and grime my household creates.  I’m happy to report that it did do a good job on just about everything I tested it on.

My first test was in the kitchen where I used it to wipe down my counter, stove top and sink.  For the kitchen test I did wet the rag a little before spraying on the cleaner and wiping off.  I have a stainless steel sink and it shined it right up.  My stove top had a bit of dried on food, which it took off after only very mild scrubbing.  My vinyl counter tops were left clean and streak free.

I also tested the cleaner in the bathtub, sink and toilet and it performed well.  I let the cleaner sit for a while in the bathtub and on the shower curtain and then I wiped and rinsed it clean.  It did an adequate job there.  Yes, bleach probably would clean it better, but this is a whole lot better for the environment and for your lungs.  It did a great job on the sink, outside of the toilet and the surrounding fixtures.  It also did a great job on the shower curtain and even removed the mold that had started growing on the bottom edges.

This product is so non-toxic that you can actually use it as a cleaner for fruits and vegetables.  I sprayed it on apples, lettuce and carrots and then rinsed and wiped dry.

For my last test I took the product to work and used it to clean my wooden desk, counters and office equipment (fax, printer, etc.).  For this test I just sprayed the cleaner on a soft, dry cloth.  It worked really well and I was shocked at how much dirt came off.

This cleaner can also be used on automobiles, but I did not use it there because my boss hijacked the product from me at work before I had a chance and so I let him have the rest of it.  The Tropical Traditions Website says that it can be used as a bug remover, tire and even engine cleaner.  I have no doubt it would work for all of those things.

In summary I’ll say that this truly is an “all purpose” cleaner, it cleans well and I love the fact that it doesn’t contain a bunch of toxic chemicals.  I highly recommend it.

Household Traditions All Purpose Cleaner is available in the convenient 32 ounce spray bottle (shown at top) and a 1 gallon refill bottle.  It can be ordered directly from their Website.  or from Amazon.com where it retails for $6.99 (spray) and $21.95 (refill).    Be sure to follow them on Facebook and/or Twitter to stay current on coupons and promotions  they frequently offer.
