Salonpas Review and Prize Pack Giveway

Not too long ago I was sent a sampling of Salonpas Pain relief Products to try out and talk to you about.  I was anxious to try them because I have more than my share of aches and pains – mild arthritis in my hand and neck as well as a couple of bone spurs and a bulging disc in my mid/lower back.  I know you’ve all heard me complaining of these symptoms at one time or another!   Doctors have prescribed a number of medications to assist with my pain management, but who wants to go through life on a bunch of pills!  I went over to the Salonpas Website and read some of the helpful pain management advice and it turns out that my situation is not at all unique.

Nearly a third of all Americans experience some sort of long-lasting pain and most doctors are quick to prescribe a pill to try and combat it.  The long term use of prescription and over the counter drugs is not only expensive, but can be dangerous as well.  There are an unlimited amount of harmful drug interactions that can occur in addition to possible damage to the heart, liver and other vital organs.  In summary, it just isn’t healthy!  You can read about this yourself by reviewing what some of the highly recognized experts have to say on the Salonpas Website.

Salonpas products are designed to deliver what is called “transdermal” pain relief.  It means that medications are released very slowly into the skin over long periods of time and is a much safer alternative when it comes to controlling pain.  Salonpas is the product of Hisamitsu Pharmaceuticals, a company that has been in business since 1847!  They introduced the transdermal drug delivery system way back in 1934.  Salonpas Pain Patches are the the first and only FDA-approved OTC pain patch.  The original Pain and Arthritis Pain Patches are made from ultra-thin Comfort Stretch technology and designed to provide up to 12 hours of pain relief.

Salonpas is available at most major retailers and they have recently introduced three new products in addition to the products mentioned above.

  • Salonpas Pain Relieving Gel Patch Hot-L – introduces the healing powers of pepper with a blend of (0.025%) capsaicin and (1.25%) menthol.   Capsaicin has been shown to reduce pain by diminishing the intensity of pain signals in the body.   This soothing cloth is ideal for relief of minor aches and pains in the shoulder and upper/lower back and is designed to provide up to 8 hours of pain relief.
  • Salonpas Pain Relieving Massage Foam– delivers a new type of pain relief by providing a clean-drying medicine that can be used for self massage.  The active ingredients are (3%) menthol and (10%) methyl salicylate provide temporary relief of the minor muscle and joint pain associated with sprains, bruises as well as simple backache and arthritis pain.  Just spray the foam on your fingertips and massage into the affected area until the crackling sound stops.
  • Salonpas Pain Relieving Jet Spray – provides a cooling blast of pain relief, with the same ingredients found in the Massage Foam.  This spray is designed to be used for fast relief without a greasy feeling or messy drip.  It’s a great product to toss into your purse or sports bag to get a quick burst of pain relief anywhere.

I found all of these products to work quite well, but my favorite product was the Pain Relieving Jet Spray.  I carried it with me to work and used it on my hand/wrist when it started to become too painful to type.  I loved how quick and easy it was to use and was especially fond of the fact that it did not leave a bad smell or greasy feeling.  I was able to spray it on and get back to work within just a few seconds and noticed relief almost immediately.  The benefits lasted for about 6 hours in my case and I found myself spraying it a second time in the evening before starting my nightly blog activities.  I would definitely recommend any of these products, especially as an alternative to taking a pill!

Be sure to check out their Website to learn more about the product and read what the experts there are saying.  You can also link up with them on Facebook and Twitter to learn of any new announcements.

Now for the best part!  Salonpas would like to share the same selection of products I received with one of my readers.  You can read even more about these products here.  I am using Rafflecopter for this giveaway with a  total of up to 8 entries.
