Swingline SmartTouch Stapler and Chisel Point Staples Review

Shoplet.com  is an Office Supply company that offers a whole range of products to keep your business productive and running smoothly.   They even have furniture and break room supplies.   I am excited to be a new member of the Shoplet Office Supplies Blogger Program because I do office work for a living and am always on the lookout for products that will make my job a little easier.

A few days ago Shoplet sent me the Swingline SmartTouch Stapler along with a box of Swingline Premium Chisel Point Staples to try out and tell you about.  The stapler came at just the right time because I was just wrapping up a big freelance project I’d been working on and all the backup work needed to be stapled together and filed.  This allowed me to give it a good test run.

The Swingline SmartTouch Stapler is an ergonomically designed stapler designed to fit in the hand easily and require less effort to use.  It is capable of going through up to 25 sheets of standard paper and features a quick load staple access.   The stapler is built with a flat bottom and rubber hand grips.  The two-toned black/grey color adds a stylish look.    The Swingline Chisel Point Staples are engineered to give superior paper penetration with minimal jamming.   They even carry a 100% performance guarantee.   These ¼ inch staples have a 25 sheet paper capacity and come in a strip of 210 and fit all standard use staplers and are contained in a reusable plastic storage case.

I really liked both products.  My favorite feature for the stapler was the loading feature.  I love how you just  lightly press the grey button on the back and the staple tray pops out.  In my job it seems like the staples always run out at the worst possible time – when you are rushing to get something done.  This feature really does make it fast and easy.   The stapler fit in my hand really well and the staples went in nice a smooth, without that “clunk” – “pop” sound that I’m used to.  It reminded me a little bit of how an electric stapler works – quiet, precise and fast!   The only thing I might change about this stapler is the size.  It is fairly long and desk space is pretty cramped in my home office.   However, the performance makes up for this shortcoming and it certainly would not stop me from purchasing or using it.

The staples come in a high quality plastic box with a slide out lid.   Staples tend to last a while in both my physical and home offices, so I was happy to see that the box would hold up to being shuffled around in the drawer a lot.  The staples themselves are of good quality as well.   I understand why Swingline gives them a performance guarantee because I received no jamming at all, even when I tried to put it through 20 sheets.

Both products receive my Office Manager vote of approval for design and use.  I highly recommend that you check out the Shoplet Website and take a look around.  Their prices are reasonable and they offer free shipping for all orders of $45 or more and there is sure to be something there you can use.

You should also visit the Shoplet Facebook and/or Twitter Pages to learn about their product offerings, pricing and upcoming promotions.  Visit the Shoplet Blog to view of some of their featured products along with some fun and creative uses for them.

Simply Saline Arm & Hammer Neti Pot Kit Review

Have you all heard of Smiley360?  They are a great little word of mouth advertising and community site.  You don’t have to be blogger to sign up – just register, complete your profile and start “connecting” with the many brands available there.  Every so often the Smiley people will offer you a “mission”, usually in the form of a short survey.  Sometimes the missions lead to product tests.  All missions will gain you Smiles (status symbols, that gain you bigger and better missions).   You can sign up to be a Smiley360 Member here.   After registering, be sure and check on your “offers” section and complete any available tasks to start building up your Smile Power.

I recently signed up for Arm & Hammer’s Simply Saline Plus Neti Pot Mission and guess what.. I GOT one.  To complete the Mission I need to review it and I’ve chosen to do so here.   For those of you who aren’t familiar with what a Neti Pot is, it is a way to clean your nose!  Yes, I know it sounds gross, but they really do work!  Neti Pots come in all sorts of shapes and sizes.  You add buffered salt, fill up with warm water, hold over the sink and pour it through your nose.  It cleans your nasal passages and gets rid of allergens and helps get rid of stuffy noses.  I have terrible allergies and often use a Neti Pot before going to bed at night.

Honestly, I have to tell you that even though it is not at all uncomfortable, I don’t like using them much because of the mess it makes – water doesn’t go through my nose that easily (I broke it once) and I always end up with water everywhere.  This Arm & Hammer Kit did work better than most though and I attribute that to the screw on lid, which I LOVE.  Most Neti Pots are open at the top and the water usually pours at the top before it ever makes it through my nose, so that problem was resolved with this pot.  The other nice thing about this kit is that it comes with 50 pre-measured saline pouches.  I like the fact that I don’t have to measure anything out and they are easier to store in my bathroom than a big bag of sea salt.

You should be able to try the Arm and Hammer Simply Saline Plus Neti Pot Kit yourself for free by taking advantage of the mail in rebate offer currently available on it, but their form link appears to be broken at the moment.  I’m going to include the information anyway just in case they fix the link:   Just purchase an Arm & Hammer Simply Saline Neti Pot Kit between 09-06-11 and 07-31-13 and receive a rebate for up to $14.99. You just need to cut the UPC from the carton, fill out the rebate form and send both in with your receipt.

* I was informed that this rebate has been taken off due to such high demand.

Smiley360 provided me with a frree sample of the product in order to complete this review. All opinions are my own.

dENiZEN Jeans Review

Levi Strauss & Company has been a respected American brand since 1853;  they stand behind their clothing, ensuring authenticity in each product.  Now you can enjoy the classic American look of Levis brand jeans with a modern twist.  Their latest line of dENiZEN jeans became available exclusively for sale at Target in July of this year.

According to their website “Denizen means “inhabitant”: belonging to a community of family and friends. Denim is in the name, at the heart of the brand. The dENiZEN™ brand is accessible to all, promising the optimism and confidence that stems from looking and feeling great. dENiZEN™ jeans are the perfect fit for today’s active families, offering the perfect balance of style and value.”

I was a bit hesitant when first given the opportunity to do this review because when it comes to jeans I am pretty picky.  I thought to myself  “what if they fit funny and I have to find something positive about them”.  Well, I’m glad I didn’t listen to myself because the jeans are great!  I’m very happy with the way they look, fit and feel.  The fabric has just enough give to allow for a comfortable fit without looking baggy or feeling too restrictive.  I like the color because they are not too light, but also not super dark (kind of an in between).

As far as the sizing goes I would consider them a pretty true fit.  I typically wear a Junior Size 7.   These jeans do not come in Jr. sizes so I ordered a women’s size 8 (based on their sizing chart) and they fit very nicely.  The waist seemed slightly tight at first, but the fabric stretched quickly to allow for just the right fit.   I got the Midrise Boot Cut and they sit  just slightly below the waist, but not so far that they start sliding down when you bend over (I hate jeans that do that).   One problem I often have with jeans is the length – they are either just a little too short or way too long, but these jeans were very close to the right length.    If I were wearing very flat shoes then I’d still consider them a bit long, but certainly not enough to where I was tripping on them.   I also liked that they were what I consider a true “boot cut” jean.   I don’t like super wide leg jeans,  but I don’t want them too skinny at the bottom either.

Shrinkage was average.   I washed them in cold water and use the low heat setting on the dryer.  I noticed the length shrunk up just a little bit (which I wanted to happen) and the waist still felt about the same as it had when I first tried them on.  There is only one thing I did not care for in these jeans and that was the front pockets.  They were not very deep at all and I like to put things in my pockets, so it was a bit of a drawback, but not enough to keep me from purchasing them.

The Denizen line comes in a variety of styles and washes suitable for the whole family.   In addition to the Midrise that I received, the Women’s Jeans also come in what they call “Totally Shaping” at the waist .  I assume this to mean they fit right at waist level or slightly above.  They are available in long or short length.  You can also get them in a straight leg.  Women’s sizing goes up to size 18.  Men and Children sizes are also available in a variety of sizes in fits ranging from loose to skinny.  Pricing is quite reasonable and ranges from $19.99 to $29.99.  The pair I received retail for $24.99.

Be sure to “like” Denizen on Facebook to be notified of upcoming sales and promotions.

Overall I would say that I am quite happy with the Denizen Jeans and will almost certainly purchase them the next time I’m in the market for a new pair of jeans.  I like the way they look and feel  and you certainly can’t go wrong on the price.

I received a pair of denizen jeans for the purposes of this review. All opinions are my own and you can read my disclosure policy here.
