Skippy Peanut Butter Recall

For those of you who haven’t heard:  Skippy has initiated a recall of several of their peanut butters.  These were a free item not long ago and some of you may have a stockpile of them.  Make sure you check your labels.  Here is the information:

Reduced Fat Creamy and Reduced Fat Super Chunk Skippy brands distributed in Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin were part of the recall.

While there have been no known illnesses, the recall was issued for fear that some of these plastic jars may contain salmonella.

The recalled products are 16.3-ounce plastic jars, with UPC codes of 048001006812 or 048001006782 and have best-if-used-by-dates of May 16-21, 2012, on the top, the company statement said.

If you have one of these jars, Unilever says to please call Skippy at 1-800-453-3432 to get a replacement coupon.
