Teas’ Mango Oolong Tea Review and Giveaway

Nothing beats a nice glass of iced tea when it is hot and sticky outside.  I just love ice tea, but I’m pretty fussy about it too.  I was a bit hesitant when ITO EN  gave me the opportunity to try out the Mango version of Teas’ Tea because I don’t typically care much for sweetened tea.  I’m also not a big fan of those fancy flavored teas – tea for me should be slightly strong and unsweetened, but not bitter.  I tried the Mango Oolong Tea anyway though and was pleasantly surprised!

This tea is pretty good.  First of all it isn’t overly sweet, but you can still taste the mango in it.  I drank both bottles – the first bottle cold from the refrigerator and the second poured over ice.  It had a great flavor and was still crisp enough to quench my thirst, which is something most sweetened teas don’t do for me.   I found it very refreshing  and decided to go to their Website and read more about the company.  As it turns out they sell all sorts of flavors and variety of teas there.  They even have gift sets.

As it turns out Teas’ Mango Oolong Tea was judged 92/100 in the Oolong Tea Category in the North American Tea Championship based on an analysis of the following characteristics:

+ flavor
+ mouthfeel
+ color
+ clarity
+ balance

What is OOLONG? Oolong, though a tea not well represented in the US market is winning in among tea connoisseurs and is known as Blue Green tea.

The health benefits of Oolong are well documented.  Here are the top 3:

3. Promote Heart Health – drinking Oolong has shown to reduce cholesterol, increases plasma adiponectin levels (low levels are associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus and coronary artery disease.
